A trip to Neah Bay always means fish in the cooler. If the weather is bad you can normally stay close and catch
the ever present Black or Blue rockfish. Lind Cod, in season can be found nearly anywhere there are rocks.
Halibut can be found in the offshore reefs on both the U.S. side of the border or over on the Canadian side. Of
course a Canadian license is needed. It takes going to Canada to get the license at this time but it is well worth it
because the season is so long. Salmon are a big draw when they are running. The road to Neah Bay can be
blocked at any given time but is passable by even the largest trailered boat. I have had a tree fall on my truck
while parked alongside of the road. We were sleeping, waiting for the morning light to launch the boat. Minor
damage was done to the truck. I have also had to remove a tree from the road just to make it so we could get by
and go home.
