The weather was questionable, but the Team needed the practice so off to Depoe
Bay I went. Had some trouble with one tire smoking up as I got down there. I think
maybe the brakes are hanging up a bit. It did not do it again. Met some "Dogs" in
the parking lot. Stayed up the rest of the night talking and playing with electronics.
I should have not done that. When I start out tired it makes it hard to fight off the
effects of seasickness. I never dropped all the way over to the sickness but it was a
constant fight. Exiting the "hole" there at Depoe that morning was the roughtest I
have had. Some big swells right in the hole. Bumpy all the way out. Some good
wind chop on top of a 6' steady swell. We had info on some tuna at 17 miles so we
dropped in when we got to the spot. We caught quite a few for the first part of the
morning and then it slowed down. We scratched out a few more the rest of the day.
12 total. Not bad for the conditions we were in. The "Hole" was closed to smaller
boats on our return but open to me. It was not too bad and I figure the closure was
made for earlier in the day. Another good trip aboard the decks of Just Keep
Fishing!
