Made our annual trek to the snake River for openning day of the deer hunt. We launch
down river from our camping spot and I run the boat on up the river a few miles where
my son brings the truck around to. There were less people at the boat launch and no
one at the camping area. I use a smaller boat not "Just Keep Fishing." Had some
issues with the throttle on the boat and so the boat ran poorly the entire trip. Still ran
though! Hunted two days and saw multiple deer. But this is a three point or better area
and we could not put three points on anything. Trying not to overestimate I would say
that we saw around 500 deer in the two days. More spikes and fork horns than I ever
have out there. Next year will be a good year I think. We did shorten the coyote
population a bit while there. Saw lots of them and could have shot more but many times
there were deer close and we did not want to scare the deer!
